Namaste
You may have heard your yoga teacher end class by saying “Namaste” but are unsure of what that means. Namaste is a traditional Indian greeting derived from the ancient Sanskrit language. It's literal translation is “I bow to you”. It is a spiritual greeting acknowledging the divine spirit in one another. Usually incorporated with the hand gesture Anjali Mudra. To perform Namaste, bring your hands together at heart center, with a soft gaze, bow your head slightly.
